Royal Scientific 142 A Soxhlet Extraction Apparatus (Capacity 250 ml)

The Royal Scientific Soxhlet Extraction Apparatus is used for extraction of essential oils from plant material such as herbs, spices and flowers. It consists of a fluted borosilicate glass retaining block, brass support ring and a long neck flask with an attached Soxhlet extractor (made of platinum). It is a high-quality glassware apparatus used for the extraction of plant tannins, alkaloids and other solutes from biological material. The scientific glassware is used for extracting compounds like tannins and alkaloids from plants such as oak bark and certain fruits. 

The liquid extraction apparatus set-up is designed to assist in the separation and purification of solids from liquids. Using a water bath underneath the extraction flask, hot solvent can easily be added and removed to help dissolve both organic and inorganic compounds.
