The Meco-G 3 Phase 3 Wire Balanced Load Portable Type Power Factor Meter – DPF3 is a handy device for checking the power factor of a three phase, three wire load. This device allows a user to measure the power factor of a three phase, three wire load by connecting the DPF3 to the output terminals of the load. The DPF3 will display both active and reactive volt amps, kilowatts, VA and power factor. By knowing the power factor and active/reactive volt amps it is possible to determine if a load is operating in an efficient manner. The DPF3 consists of two modules that connect via USB cable. The first module receives current data from the DPF3 and loads it into the computer. This module also allows for battery charging of the DPF3. The second module presents information on screen for review by the user. Both modules are powered by an internal lithium rechargeable battery with an approximate charge time of 2 hours when fully discharged. The DPF3 is not recommended for use on loads over 600V or 50A unless an appropriate DC isolation transformer between the meter and load is employed at all times as required by National Electrical Code Article 500.
