The DPW3 is a portable Electrodynamometer Type Wattmeter that measures the real power in 3-phase, 3-wire balanced and unbalanced systems. The DPW3 is a battery powered portable wattmeter that is used to calibrate or test power conditioners, load banks, motor drives and generators. The DPW3 is compatible with all Meco-G 3 Phase products. It can be used to measure voltage, current and power for three phase systems with voltages up to 600VAC and currents up to 100A. The DPW3 uses a high accuracy DC motor for the moving coil meter movement. This provides very stable readings and eliminates the error caused from temperature variations. The DC motor eliminates the possibility of arcing between the moving parts and limits the number of moving parts to two. There are no gears or belts to wear out in this design, which also makes it extremely quiet in operation. The meter movement is designed specifically for low maintenance with a lifetime rating of more than 1 million cycles at full scale deflection.
