What is a Lubricant?

Penetrating oils are not designed for long-lasting lubrication, as compared to other lubricants. Instead, these are designed to infiltrate the tiny cracks between the surfaces (such as screw threads), add lubrication, and break up rust due to their low viscosity oils with additives.

#4)Dry Lubricants
Dry lubricants are made up of graphite, silicone, molybdenum disulfide or PTFE. These particles are super slippery at the molecular level, so they work as great lubricant agents between two surfaces and reduce the friction between surfaces in contact with one another.
These lubricants are commonly available in spray form, where they are mixed with some solvent such as water, alcohol, or some other solvent. Once sprayed solvent evaporates leaving behind the thin film of lubricating substance.
