Loctite SF Etching Agent makes plastic surfaces soft and more receptive to adhesives. It is fast-acting, biodegradable, odorless and contains no solvents or harmful fumes.  It is a concentrated liquid that quickly dissolves aluminum, iron, brass and copper. The self etch bonding agent provides an overall deep etch on these materials. It is also useful for removing paint from stainless steel, easing the cleaning of surfaces with oil products and it can be used as a final rinse after washing printed circuit boards. It is designed for fast etching of ferrous metals. It is an etching agent used to open joints to allow the flow of current through them. Loctite SF is extremely versatile and bonds to most non-metals including plastics and rubbers. This etching agent is a low-viscosity resin that is applied to the surface of plastic, rubber or synthetic materials. When exposed to two or more synergistic activators, it rapidly hydrolyzes and penetrates the moulded article, creating a network of pores deep within the material's surface.
