WIDIA Drilling Insert SCMT09T308 Grade- TTR has good wear resistance and excellent toughness at elevated temperatures. It is used in applications where tensile strength, hardness and thermal conductivity are important requirements. Typical applications of insert drill bits include aircraft components, engine parts, high-temperature ball bearings and other highly stressed components requiring good fatigue strength, and toughness at elevated temperatures. Inserts are designed for chamfered drilling of straight, curved and grooved holes in a variety of materials. The drilling insert can be manufactured from tungsten carbide, cobalt steel and titanium. Inserts enable high feed rates, especially in hard materials. Their full engagement with the hole edge reduces friction, improves tool rigidity, and eliminates chatter. A removable collar allows protective toolless chucking of inserts.
