Lever Limit switches are safety devices that detect the presence or absence of a movable object to prevent damage to fixed objects. The switch normally opens and closes when an object moves into its path. When completely closed, it opens again automatically.

The Omron Z-15GW-B is a general-purpose single-pole double-throw (SPDT) Basic Switch with a 0.5mm standard contact gap and hinge lever actuator. Screw terminals are included with this Z series safety interlock switch. The model's contact mechanism is a crossbar type with gold-alloy contacts, ensuring very dependable operations for tiny loads. The actuator is available in two types, split and maintained contact. The standard model incorporates a protective safety cover over the mounting lead terminals. A wide range of variations in contact forms and various switching capacities are available to match diverse applications.

Depending on the model, the lever type can be opened and closed manually or by pressure plate operation. Wide variations are available in the contact form and range selection. It incorporates a built-in mechanical power safety shield which operates independently of the control signal circuit, protecting against any inadvertent operation by guarding against over-travel and inadvertent contact with high voltage, 24 V AC/DC power supply.
