The Link Pipe Cutter, Model P-1614, is an extremely portable hand operated pipe cutter designed to cut steel, copper and cast iron pipes from 1/2 inches to 2 inches in diameter. The P-1614 features a cutting wheel that is made of high shock resistant tool steel. This wheel cuts smoothly on lighter wall pipes. The wheel is mounted on the cutter body with two hardened stainless steel pins which are recessed into the cutter body behind the cutting wheel. These pins prevent any side play of the cutting wheel when it is either in the open or closed position. The cutter's handles are shaped to fit comfortably in the user's hand providing increased leverage while cutting pipe. To operate, the handles are pushed together causing teeth in the wheels to engage around the pipe and start cutting. The handle is held in a ratcheting position allowing for multiple cuts to be made by simply releasing and re-applying pressure on the handles. A lever located behind each handle may be used to disengage both handles simultaneously for easy removal of pipe or tubing from around the cutter wheel between cuts.
