This small device allows to connect up to 10 Modbus slaves to 1 Modbus master. The slaves and the master can be located anywhere on the network. Each slave will be identified by its own address (0 to 9).

The Hub can also be used as a distribution point for the signals coming from 8 external sensors. This feature is available only on the Small Hub and Medium Hub models.

The Hub is built with an integrated 4-point screw terminal block which allows you to connect directly your trunk cable. This allows you to use any type of cable, such as Cat5 or even twisted pair cables for long distance applications. If you need to tap off from this box, Schneider Electric offers 3 different types of tap-off boxes: TeSys U cable connects directly on the screw terminal block and provides 2 RJ45 connectors for each tap-off point; TeSys U elbow box comes with 2 RJ45 connectors for each tap-off point; TeSys U star topology box has 4 RJ45 connectors for tapping off from one side or from both sides of the box (tapping off from both sides gives you 8 taps).
