When the clutch pedal is depressed, it pulls on the clutch cable, applying tension and causing the clutch release mechanism to move, which disengages the clutch. This separates the engine's power from the transmission, allowing the driver to shift gears or come to a stop On the release of the clutch pedal, the tension in the clutch cable is released, allowing the clutch to engage again and power to be transmitted from the engine to the transmission It's important to note that not all vehicles use clutch cables. Some vehicles use hydraulic clutch systems, where hydraulic fluid is used to transmit the clutch pedal's force to the clutch release mechanism. In such cases, a hydraulic line and a master cylinder are used instead of a clutch cable. Suppose a clutch cable becomes damaged, stretched, or fails. In that case, it can result in difficulties in engaging or disengaging the clutch, causing gear shifting problems or even preventing the vehicle from moving. In such cases, if necessary, the clutch cable should be inspected and replaced by a qualified mechanic to ensure the smooth operation of the clutch system and the proper functioning of the manual transmission
