These cables may develop faults now & then due to mperfections in the cable insulations, mechanical damages, water seepage & overloading etc. such of the faults which are usually difficult to pinpoint may be localized with our Digital Cable Fault Localizer.
Pin Points Fault in all underground cables.
Useful for Power, Control & Telecom Cables.
Maximum Cable Length 5kms.
Accuracy ±5%.
Faults located can be Medium/High Resistance Faults, Open Circuit and Short Circuit faults.

PRINCIPAL OF OPERATION
Two techniques namely (1) Potential comparison technique & (2) Capacitance comparison technique are incorporated in this instrument.
POTENTIAL COMPARISON TECHNIQUE
Is used to locate all types of resistance and short circuit faults. The principal of operation is to measure the potential drop across the faulty
section of the conductor through the fault resistance.

METRAVI Brand Digital Cable Locator consists of aTtransmitter and a Receiver, which is a portable measurement instrument and can be used to detect or trace conductors and find Shortfaults in them.
The signal generated by the transmitter is made of a modulated current, generating an electromagnetic field around a conductor. This electro-magnetic field induces a voltage within the receiving coil. The induced voltage is amplified, decoded, and converted to the original signal by the receiver and finally displayed on the screen. The connecting parameter for the transmitter during an application must be a closed current circuit.
Finding conductors in walls, conductor interruptions, short circuit in conductors.
Conductor tracing in soil.
Detecting fuses assigning current circuits.
Tracing sockets and distribution sockets having accidently been covered by plastering.
Detecting interruptions and short circuits in floor heating.
Tracing metallic water and heating piping.
All application areas (both, voltage free and live) are performed without using any additional instrument.
Transmitter display indicates the transmission level, the transmission code, as well as the foreign voltage
Receiver display indicates the reception level, the transmission code, as well as the mains voltage detection.
Automatic and manually adjustable sensitivity adjustment.
Acoustic reception signal may be switched off.
Auto Power Off.
Backlit display.
Additional lighting functions when working under bad lighting conditions.
Additional transmitters are available, as options, to extend or distinguish signals.
The built in fuses protect the instrument against overload or faulty manipulation.
Auto Power Off : approx. 5 minutes (No operation condition).
Height above MSL : up to 2000m.
Output signal : 125kHz.
Tracing Depth : The tracing depth depends on medium and application.
