Superon SUPERHARD 550LH 57-60HR Hardfacing Electrode is a very hard, high strength, general purpose electrode for use on all types of steel where the weld deposit must be highly resistant to impact loading. This product is also useful for wear resistance in automotive and other applications that are subject to high stresses and abrasive action. The electrode is primarily used for the hard facing of chisels and punches in mining, milling, construction and other similar industries. It has a nickel-chrome-molybdenum alloy coating on it. The electrode performs well when welding aluminium in combination with steel to produce aluminium-steel alloys, and it also forms a good weld pool on both grey and white metals. It is intended for use in an inert atmosphere or in the presence of an inert gas, such as argon or helium, or an oxidation-resistant gas, such as oxygen or air. It is commonly used to produce a high-quality, strong, and ductile surface on steel structural members. This electrode provides excellent protection against abrasion, erosion, and corrosion, and it also offers excellent resistance to high temperatures for a long period of time. This electrode can be applied by dipping or spraying. The inclusion of chromium in the electrode formula creates a harder deposit with improved resistance to wear and erosion when compared to electrodes that use less chromium.

p style="margin:0in 0in 8pt">Superon Superhard 350 37-40HR Hardfacing Electrode is a hardfaced steel electrode for welding ferrous metals in the as-welded or post-weld heat treated condition. It is designed to provide superior wear resistance and protection against localized corrosion where there is a high degree of mechanical stress and exposure to heat, moisture and contaminants. It is used for overlay welding and can be used as a general purpose electrode on carbon and low alloy steel, stainless steel and nickel alloys. It is commonly used as an alternative to tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, and ceramic materials due to its properties of hardness, toughness, and wear resistance. The electrode has a high electrical resistivity, which makes it suitable for applications that require conductivity against heat. It combines high abrasion resistance, hardness, and ductility with low porosity and oxidation. The addition of tungsten carbide to the standard chromium nickel molybdenum alloy in the hardfacing electrode results in a much harder surface than typical chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloys. This hardness allows for a better wear resistance and fatigue life when compared to other hardfacing electrodes. This electrode is designed for use in the armatures and liners of large electric furnaces that require consistent performance over an extended period of time. It can be used on all types of cast iron, steel, and other nonferrous materials.
