This hand mixer comes with a few different attachments to make it even more versatile. The whisk and dough hook are both removable, and can be stored in the mixer itself or in other locations as desired. The whisk attachment has a small, round bowl, which is excellent for mixing up small quantities of egg whites or cream for a sauce to drizzle over your favorite dessert. The dough hook attachment is ideal for kneading bread dough, and can also be used on other types of dough—you may find that you prefer using your mixer over your hands and a spoon to whip up cookie dough or muffin batter.
The speed settings range from 1 to 5 (1 being the slowest and 5 being the fastest), allowing you to choose the rate at which you want your mixture to come together. This feature is especially useful when preparing ingredients such as whipped cream: instead of starting out at full speed and then slowing down as necessary, you can opt to start off at a slower setting and gradually increase it if need be. If you're making anything that needs a very fast start, like scrambled eggs or graham crackers, then Turbo Function would be better than starting at 1 or 2.
The ability to do a lot of things with a little is one of the best things about this hand mixer. The 5-speed option allows you a wide array of speed options for your different mixing tasks, from fast whipping on the highest speed to slow whisking or folding on the lowest. For example, if you're making an egg white omelet where you want to only whip the whites and not the yolks, you can use Turbo Function at an appropriate speed level and avoid over-whipping. Or if you're making a cake batter that needs to be mixed until it's smooth and light, but then need to fold in some flour, you can switch over to the folding function instead of making another switch and losing time in between. And so on.
