Inductive proximity sensors are available in flush-mounted and non-flush-mounted models (shielded and unshielded). OsiSense inductive proximity sensors are designed specifically for detecting metal objects up to 60 mm in diameter and feature a wound oscillator (which generates an alternating magnetic field in front of it) to form the sensing element. Available styles: flush-mounted and non-flush-mounted (shielded and unshielded); flat; short and long body; PNP and NPN types (compatible with PLCs and controllers); wired DC, AC, or AC/DC versions (for installation as limit switches). How do they work and where can they be used? Inductive proximity sensors contain a coil and oscillator, which create an electromagnetic field near the sensing surface. When metal enters this field, a change in amplitude occurs. This changes the sensor output, indicating the device or equipment that has detected the metal. Inductive proximity sensors are suitable for most industries.<br> Inductive sensors are unaffected by oil, dirt, or surface finishes, and can be used in areas with high vibration and shock.
