The valve will open at approximately 2 bar above the set point and close at approximately 0.5 bar below it. The ball is returned to its seat through an integral spring mechanism, and can be re-opened by hand if required by pulling the operating handle upwards and turning it 90 degrees clockwise into its locked position. This is known as ‘spring back’, or ‘spring return’; many valves have this feature built in to them.
