Makita Compression Spring for AT1216AZ, Part No A0100-0021 is a versatile mechanical component widely used in a diverse range of applications to store and release energy, absorb shock, or maintain a specific force between two contacting surfaces. These helical coil springs are characterized by their ability to compress under a load and return to their original uncompressed state once the force is removed, making them essential in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, and engineering.
The design of a compression spring consists of a helical coil of spring wire with a uniform pitch and diameter. When a load is applied, the spring compresses, absorbing the force and storing potential energy. This stored energy is then released when the load is removed, causing the spring to return to its original shape and producing an opposing force that pushes back against the compression. This property makes compression springs ideal for applications where resistance to linear compressive forces or shock absorption is required, such as in suspension systems, valves, industrial machinery, and consumer products.
The material selection for compression springs is critical and depends on the specific requirements of the application. High-carbon steel, stainless steel, music wire, and several non-ferrous alloys are commonly used due to their excellent strength, resilience, and fatigue resistance. The size, pitch, and number of coils are customized to achieve the desired spring rate, load capacity, and compression characteristics, ensuring optimal performance in the intended application.
Compression springs are available in a wide range of sizes, from miniature springs used in electronics and medical devices to large industrial springs employed in heavy machinery and equipment. Moreover, they can be manufactured with various end configurations, such as open ends, closed ends, or a combination of both, to suit specific mounting and force transmission requirements.
In summary, compression springs are indispensable components that provide reliable and predictable linear force and energy storage capabilities across numerous industries and applications. Their ability to absorb shock, maintain force, and store energy positions them as essential elements in countless mechanical systems, contributing to enhanced functionality, safety, and performance in diverse engineering and manufacturing environments.

Benchmark's new 5ml centrifuge tube takes the conveniences of standard 1.5ml tubes and scales them up for larger volumes. These polypropylene tubes come with an attached cap that provides a tight, leak-proof seal. They can also be effortlessly opened (or closed) with one hand. The cap is designed to provide a secure seal from -86°C to +80°C. CapLock™ Clips are available to maintain the integrity of the seal at extreme temperatures. In heated applications, the tube may be "boiled" for up to 10 minutes. At temperatures above 80°C, the use of the CapLock is recommended.\
The tubes are made of maximum clarity, low-binding virgin polypropylene and are ertified RNase & DNase free. Sterile (pyrogen-free) tubes are also available and packaged in bags of twenty. 5ml tubes are sized to be compatible with all Benchmarkâ„¢ and standard German-designed equipment, including centrifuges, dry bath block heaters, tube racks and thermal shakers/vortexers.
The 16mm tube diameter is identical to the diameter of standard 15ml tubes, which nsures further compatibility with centrifuge rotors, etc. In many applications, these tubes have replaced 15ml tubes, dramatically reducing plastic waste, storage space and shipping costs. The potential contamination of pipettor shafts is greatly reduced because the 56mm total tube length (vs. 120mm for standard 15ml tubes) is short enough for standard 1ml or 5ml tips to reach the tube's conical bottom.
Maximum centrifugal force: 25,000 x g (when properly supported in an appropriate rotor cavity)
Features
Easy-open flip top
High clarity virgin polypropylene
Dual graduations (at every 0.5 & 0.2ml)
Pierceable syring port in cap
Compatible with standard equipment
