The Flash Back Arrestors are designed to protect the regulator from flashback of acetylene, propane and LPG. The F.B. Arrestor is a device which is fitted in line between the regulator and torch and it stops the reverse flow of gas into the cylinder if there is an over-pressure condition which may arise due to blockage of burner or flashback from the flame. The flash back arrestor consists of a cup with a hole at one end to fit over the regulator outlet nipple, a flange on the other end which seats against an O ring in the valve and a spring loaded ball bearing which closes off the hole when there is no pressure in the line and opens it when there is pressure in the line.
