The input voltage range is 6 – 15V, which means it can be powered by 2-3s LiPo, a 3s LiFe battery, or even 4s LiPo with a step down converter.For most applications, an external BEC is not necessary. If you want to use an external BEC though, Hobbywing offers an optional one on their site. The stock BEC will do just fine for powering servos.As far as programming goes, this ESC has all of the features you'd expect from a modern speed controller.
