UL. RS Pro 5mm LED Indicators, IP67. These LEDs from RS Pro are IP67-rated and designed for panel mounting, making them suitable for most environments, including outdoor environments. Their wide temperature range of -40 to +85°C increases the number of potential applications. These 5mm LEDs require an 8mm panel cutout and are supplied with a fixing nut and spring washer. They feature a polished chrome bezel and are available in a variety of voltage ratings and bezel styles. All models are highly reliable and of excellent quality. Features and Benefits: 5mm panel-mount LED indicators; 5mm tinted diffused epoxy lens or 5mm clear, ultra-bright LEDs; polished chrome bezel; raised, recessed, or flush bezel; 12-28 dc wire terminations; IP67-rated sealing; viewing angle up to 100°C; operating temperature range -40 to +85°C. What protection do these indicators provide? Each LED indicator is IP67-rated. While not completely waterproof, it is fully protected from dust and other small particles. They can also be fully submerged in water (up to 1 meter deep) for up to 30 minutes. How this feature is used varies depending on the application, but if the above guidelines are followed correctly, LEDs will continue to operate smoothly. Reasons for Choosing LEDs: While long life and low power consumption are the primary selling points of LEDs, there are a variety of other reasons, including: Temperature: LEDs generate much less heat than incandescent or neon lights. Directionality: LEDs emit light in only one direction, reducing the need for additional components like reflectors. However, this does not apply when LED indicators are used as circuit board signals. Cost: LEDs generally have a higher supply than standard bulbs or pilot lights, making them a cost-effective solution in terms of purchase and operation. Be sure to use a current-limiting device, such as an appropriate series resistor, when operating these LED indicators. Indicator Uses: The use of indicators is entirely up to the user. They can be fixed to circuit boards and attached to push buttons and switches. These types of indicators are primarily used in circuit boards and electronic designs due to their relatively small size compared to other types of indicators, such as car turn signals.
