While long life and low power consumption are key features of LEDs, there are many other reasons. Temperature: LEDs generate much less heat than incandescent or neon lights. Directionality: LEDs emit light in only one direction, reducing the need for additional components like reflectors. However, this is not the case when LED indicators are used as signals on circuit boards. Cost: LEDs are generally available in greater quantities than standard bulbs or pilot lights, making them a cost-effective solution to purchase and operate. What protection do these indicators offer? Each LED indicator is rated IP67. While not completely waterproof, they are fully protected against dust and other small particles. They can also be fully submerged in water (up to 1 meter deep) for up to 30 minutes. How this feature is used will vary depending on the application, but as long as the above guidelines are followed correctly, the LEDs will continue to operate smoothly. Do these indicators come with fixings? Each indicator comes standard with a fixing nut, washer, and gasket, making installation quick and easy. These types of indicators are primarily used in circuit boards and electronic designs due to their relatively small size compared to other types of indicators, such as car turn signals.
