How to Use |
There are two methods for measuring roughness by comparing the roughness standard piece with the actual product, either visually or tactilely. However, when the maximum height of irregularities is specified as in JIS standards. The tactile method is correct except for very rough surfaces. <br> In the case of tactile sensation, it seems that sensitivity is better when rubbing with the tip of the nail than with touching the belly of the finger. Also, the comparison may be made by lightly rubbing with the tip of a pencil. However, when surface gloss is a problem, of course, it must be visually. The degree of roughness that can be identified visually and tactilely is usually about 0.8S. |
