The Disc butterfly valve is a wafer type valve body with C.I. disc and Wafer Seat. The disc opens up like a regular butterfly valve, but has a disc that opens and closes instead of a plug. The gate ideally is placed on the side wall where straight flow is not required and thus avoiding restriction of flow. Disc and seat are made of nitrile/EPDM, which is a good material for chemical resistance. It has good sealing performance, suitable for corrosive mediums like strong acid, strong alkali and other corrosives; it can meet the leakage rate requirements in accordance with ISO 2581-1999. The disc by VALVEQUIP can be installed in front of the butterfly valve to prevent any contamination during closed position.
