The sleeve replaces the standard barrel of the weapon, and interlocks with the gas chamber, allowing users to safely reduce their weapon's firing power without damaging the gun or risking injury.

The reduction sleeve allows the user to convert an R8-MT2 bearing from having a 1:1 motion ratio to a 2:1 motion ratio, making it possible to create setups with increased rigidity at the expense of some flexibility.
