Sand Paper is a super fine sandpaper that is great for the finishing touches of a project. It is available in several grits, but the most common are 120 and 240. Many woodworkers use these to smooth out their projects before applying stain or varnish. The finer the grit, the smoother it can make your project. However, if you go too far with this paper, you may take off too much material and ruin your work. This can be avoided by using a masking tape sheet on areas you do not want to be sanded down too far. If you notice that the site has been sanded too much after removing the tape, simply cover it up with another piece of tape and continue working until everything is smooth again
Another use for this type of sandpaper is removing paint from metal surfaces like vehicles or fences. When using this type of paper on metal surfaces, always wear eye protection because sparks can fly when working with metal
