Button Head Screws

UCON Socket button head screws are used when appearance is a factor, and clamping material is too thin to countersink the screw. Socket head cap screws to ISO 7380 are available from stock in steel grade 10.9.To drive these screws, a hex wrench must be used to prevent cam-out. These screws benefit over slotted screw products due to their higher resistance to cam-out and can be used with power drivers enabling faster installation and higher torque to be achieved. These screws can be driven using a hex wrench or insert bit for increased efficiency. Socket button head machine screws, also known as self-drilling screws or self-tapping screws because they are able to cut their own thread into materials. These screws are available from stock, and can be supplied in steel grade 10.9 or stainless steel 316. The socket drive head allows for a smooth drive, and prevents cam-out from tripping during installation. Socket button head cap screws are used when a more decorative look is required, or where the material is too thin to countersink the screw. Socket screws also have a hex recess that allows for installation without the need for a chuck key, making them more efficient than slotted screws.
