ESAB 98 (E9018M) Low Hydrogen Electrode
ESAB offers a range of low hydrogen electrodes designed to meet the stringent requirements of welding applications where hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) is a concern. These electrodes are meticulously engineered to minimize hydrogen content in the weld metal and heat-affected zone, reducing the risk of HIC and ensuring weld integrity and reliability. Low hydrogen electrodes from ESAB are specifically formulated for various welding processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), also known as stick welding, and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), commonly referred to as MIG/MAG welding. They are suitable for welding a wide range of materials including carbon steels, low alloy steels, stainless steels, and high-strength steels. These electrodes feature a special flux coating designed to effectively trap moisture and hydrogen, preventing their absorption into the weld metal. This ensures that the resulting welds exhibit excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile strength and impact toughness.
