JOHN OAKEY 36 Grit Quartz Glue Sheet Flint Paper also known as flint cloth, is a type of abrasive paper used to sand wood. It is made from cotton and glass fibres with a slurry of fine abrasive particles (generally garnet). Flint paper is available in several grades ranging from coarse to very fine. The coarser grades are used for rough shaping or removing surface defects such as knots and checks. The finer grades are used for final sanding and finishing operations
The sheet goods are generally used manually for offhand applications. In some cases they are also used on hand sanding machines. Flint, Multicut, & Aloxide Papers are generally used on wood. Emery paper & Cloth are generally used for metal application Water Proof Paper as the name suggests is used for wet application such as in tinkering & painting of Automobiles

The main advantage of using flint paper is that it doesn't need pre-soaking or priming before use unlike other abrasives such as garnet paper or emery cloth which can be used for both wet and dry applications. However, the disadvantage of using flint paper is that they tend to clog up quickly and therefore require constant cleaning while working with them
