- Krishi Rasayan 1 Kg Kristar Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG is an insecticide that is primarily used for controlling pests in agriculture. Emamectin benzoate is the active ingredient in this formulation, and it belongs to the avermectin group of insecticides
- Emamectin benzoate acts as a contact and stomach poison. This means that it can enter the insect's body through direct contact with the pesticide or by ingestion when the insect feeds on treated plant material
- Once inside the insect's body, emamectin benzoate targets the nervous system, specifically the neurotransmitter receptors called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors. It disrupts the normal functioning of these receptors, leading to paralysis and eventual death of the insect
- The 5% SG formulation indicates that the product is in the form of a water-dispersible granule. This formulation is designed to be mixed with water and applied as a spray or drench to crops or target areas. The granules quickly dissolve in water, forming a suspension that can be easily sprayed onto the plants
- Emamectin benzoate is effective against a wide range of pests, including caterpillars, leaf miners, and certain mites. It is commonly used in the control of pests in crops such as vegetables, fruits, cotton, and tobacco
